The Commission is today taking further steps to support the development of the European hydrogen market by launching work on a pilot mechanism. The new mechanism was created as part of the recently adopted decarbonized gas and hydrogen package and aims to accelerate investments by providing a clearer picture of the market situation for both buyers and suppliers and by facilitating contacts between them. It will be in place for five years and will be part of the European Hydrogen Bank.
